World Liberty Financial ($WLFI) has announced that its token will become tradable and transferable starting Monday, September 1 at 12:00 UTC (8:00 a.m. ET). This launch marks the beginning of WLFI’s secondary market journey — and the first time early backers will be able to realize part of their investment.

For many in the community, this event isn’t just about a token listing — it’s about how WLFI is structuring unlocks, managing liquidity, and ensuring that early supporters and new buyers alike understand the rules of the game.

How It Works: The Lockbox
The WLFI launch revolves around a new smart contract system called the Lockbox.
Investors must activate their Lockbox through worldlibertyfinancial.com before trading begins.
Once activated, WLFI tokens move into the Lockbox contract; wallet balances may temporarily show “0” — a normal part of the process.
On September 1, 12:00 UTC, investors can claim the first 20% of their presale allocation.
The remaining 80% will be unlocked over time, but instead of being set by the team, the schedule will be decided by governance voting among WLFI holders.
This system has been audited by Cyfrin, a well-known blockchain security firm, to provide transparency and trust.
The Supply Picture
WLFI has a total supply of 100 billion tokens. Out of this, 25 billion were sold in presale rounds:
20B WLFI @ $0.015 (Oct 2024)
5B WLFI @ $0.05 (Q1 2025)
At launch, 20% of those presale tokens — 5 billion WLFI — will become claimable. That represents 5% of the total supply.
Importantly, not all of those 5B will hit exchanges immediately. Claiming requires manual action, and many early supporters may choose to hold rather than sell. That means the effective circulating supply on day one could be significantly lower.
Some reports have mentioned “30B” in early allocations, but those figures include locked categories like founders, team, and advisors. Only 25B presale WLFI is eligible for the initial unlock.
IOUs and Exchange Liquidity
Ahead of official trading, WLFI has already been changing hands through IOU (I owe you) markets on major exchanges such as LBank, MEXC, and Coincall, with CoinMarketCap listing an aggregated WLFI [IOU] price around $1.89.
These IOUs are essentially placeholders — buyers can’t withdraw WLFI until the real token unlocks. On Sept 1, exchanges will settle those balances by distributing actual WLFI, sourced from:
Liquidity agreements with the WLFI team
Deposits from early investors who send their unlocked tokens to exchanges
Market-making partners who seed trading pairs
This means that liquidity will exist at launch, but order books could be relatively thin compared to the hype — leading to sharp volatility in the first hours of trading.
What Early Investors Can Expect
For presale investors, the unlock structure is generous but measured. Each wallet receives 20% of its allocation at TGE.
An investor who bought 10,000 WLFI at $0.015 paid $150 in total. On Sept 1, they’ll unlock 2,000 WLFI. If WLFI trades around $1.89 (IOU price), that 20% slice alone would be worth $3,780 — more than 25x their original investment.
Another investor who bought 10,000 WLFI at $0.05 paid $500. They’ll also unlock 2,000 WLFI, worth the same $3,780 at IOU prices — a return of more than 7x their initial cost, even before the rest of their allocation is unlocked.
Even in conservative price scenarios (say, WLFI dips to $1.50 at launch), the unlocked tokens provide major profits: $3,000 from a $150 entry or a 6x return from a $500 entry.
The key point: just 20% of holdings already repays an early investor’s cost many times over. The remaining 80% becomes a longer-term bet, governed by WLFI’s future unlock schedule and market performance.
Launch-Day Scenarios
Because only part of the unlocked supply will be claimed and deposited, WLFI’s initial circulation will likely range between 500 million and 2.5 billion tokens on day one.
Conservative case (10% of 5B claimed): 500M in circulation, price around $1.50
Realistic case (25% of 5B claimed): 1.25B in circulation, price near $1.89 (IOU avg)
Optimistic case (50% of 5B claimed): 2.5B in circulation, price closer to $2.50
In each scenario, early investors are positioned for substantial returns, while new buyers face a launch with potentially sharp swings due to thin liquidity.
Staying Safe
The WLFI team has stressed security throughout its launch process:

Never share private keys or seed phrases.

Final Word
The Sept 1 launch of WLFI trading will be closely watched across crypto markets. With only 5% of supply unlocked and IOU markets already pricing WLFI near $2, volatility is almost guaranteed.
For early investors, the first 20% unlock represents a remarkable return, while the remaining 80% depends on WLFI’s governance process and market trajectory. For new entrants, it’s a chance to join a project with strong early momentum — but one where caution and risk management will be key in the opening days.
The next chapter for World Liberty Financial begins now.
